2005
Aug 2005: Taylor Boyer (finalist,
2nd Global Arts Program, Pennsylvania) started a nonprofit organization
called "YES, We Do Care", which does random acts of kindness for people
in need. Recently YES We Do Care arranged for an inner-city Philadelphia
school to connect with a suburban school, and take a field trip to local
sites. She also continues to actively create art, and her works have
been on display at shows and fairs.
Aug 2005: Tamara Mamedova (finalist,
1st Global Arts Program, Azerbaijan) awarded scholarship to the Azerbaijan
State Management Academy, an academy of higher education in Azerbaijan.
She will study International Relations.
Jul 2005: Fadhil Ahmad Qamar sends
us his achievements for 2005.
His art has won in several international art competitions this year.
Jun 2005: Viviana Astudillo Clavijo (finalist,
1st Global Arts Program, Canada) was recently asked by a member of the
Toronto Police, who leads a project called ESP (Empowered Students),
to do a mural in a building at a downtown location in Toronto. This project
is geared at eliminating graffiti.
Jun 2005: Since the 2003 Festival, Philbert
Tiki Yong (finalist, 2nd Global Arts Program, Malaysia) has
been very busy with competitions, auditions, travel and creating art. Read
more about his activities.
Jan 2005: Artwork by Chathura Kalpanee,
(finalist, 1st Global Arts Program, Sri Lanka) featured in 2005 calendar
published by Sri Lanka Telecom Services.
Each month features a different painting by Chathura.
2004
Dec 2004: Ella Gordon Latty, age
13, (finalist, 2nd Global Arts Program, New Zealand) addressed
a full Kihikihi town hall on the vital work of ICAF in connecting
children for a creative peaceful future. The Town Hall was celebrating
100 years with a children's festival of creativity, including banners,
exhibitions, music, speeches by child artists, floats, parades, a market
and a street carnival, which were run in conjunction with a special Christmas
celebration. The whole program lasted over a week.
Dec 3, 2004: Young musicians
from NH and MA, including 2nd Global Arts Program finalist Laura
Corlin, performed in the Children's Ward for the young patients
at the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth/Hitchcock Medical Center in
Lebanon, NH. A selection of inspirational songs, young favorites and
holiday tunes were presented and Music Gift Bags were given to all
of the patients in the ward. If you would like buy these award-winning

Nov 2004: Dianna Mazzone (finalist,
2nd Global Arts Program, New York) won the Pre-Teen New York competition,
a scholarship and recognition program. She was invited to participate
in the Pre-Teen America National competition to be held in Baton Rouge,
Louisiana in July 2005.
Oct 2004: Fadhil Ahmad Qamar (finalist,
2nd Global Arts Program, Indonesia) won
third place in the 7th Annual International Peace Pals Art Competition
and Exhibition in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Sep 31, 2004: Laura Corlin (finalist,
2nd Global Arts Program, New Hampshire) releases vol II of her "The
Difference Music Makes Series", a 501c-3 non-profit community service
project created to provide young hospital patients with the gift of music
during treatment for cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
Jul 2004: Artwork by Fadhil Ahmad Qamar (finalist,
2nd Global Arts Program, Indonesia) won in the 32nd
International Children's Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice 2004, Czech
Republic. His
artwork was one of 1,124 winning artworks selected out of a total
of 11,765 submissions.
Jul 2004: Salaar Khan (finalist,
2nd Global Arts Program, Pakistan) to
attend "Tunza International Children's Conference on Environment 2004" in
Connecticut, US.
May 20, 2004: Artwork by Alejandro Goldzycher (finalist,
2nd Global Arts Program, Argentina) exhibited at the Argentinian Embassy
in Washington, DC, along with the works of art of several other Argentinian
artists.
2004: Salaar Khan (finalist, 2nd
Global Arts Program, Pakistan) wins
prize in national essay competition.
2003
Dec 2003: Fadhil Ahmad Qamar (finalist,
2nd Global Arts Program, Indonesia) shares this news with us - "My
poster titled "Live from Bali" (in which New York kids are watching
a live broadcast of Balinese Barong Dance from Bali on a big television)
was chosen
as Top Regional Winner - Asia in the WSIS International Poster Contest."
Nov 2003: Solo art exhibition by Tamara
Mamedova (finalist, 1st Global Arts Program, Azerbaijan) in
Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
2002
Jan 25, 2002: Salaar Khan (finalist,
2nd Global Arts Program, Pakistan) won a top position in poster competition
and delivered a confident speech in
defense of the ozone layer at dinner in honor of Executive Director of
UN Family Planning Association.
