ICAF ED receives a prestigious community award.

Dr. Ashfaq Ishaq received the 2004 American Muslim Achievement Award at an awards banquet at Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. This is the most prestigious community award for the 5 to 7 million American Muslims in the United States. Previous recipients have included 1999 Nobel Laureate Dr. Ahmed Zewail, Film Producer and Director Mr. Moustafa Akkad, inventor of the glaucoma valve Dr. Mateen Ahmed, and chairman of Ethan Allen Mr. Farooq Kathwari.

Dr. Ishaq shared the 2004 Award with Mr. Mohamed Zakariya, the famous calligrapher who designed the Eid Greetings stamp for the United States Postal Service. Dr. Ishaq and Mr. Zakariya thanked the Muslim community for recognizing the importance of the arts by honoring an arts pioneer and an artist. The County of Los Angeles presented a plaque to Dr. Ishaq with sincere congratulations of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles.
