ICAF WINS WORLD CULTURE OPEN 2004 EXEMPLARY HUMANITARIAN SERVICE AWARD
The International Child Art Foundation (ICAF) wins the World Culture Open (WCO) 2004 Award for Exemplary Humanitarian Service in Seoul, Korea.
The WCO Cultural Competition was held in New York on September 8-10 and in Seoul on September 14-16. ICAF's Arts Olympiad was selected as an exemplary program from amomg the civil society organizations that applied from around the world. ICAF executive director, Dr. Ashfaq Ishaq, was invited by WCO to Seoul to make a presentation on the Arts Olympiad. Two Korean and two Japanese judges selected ICAF and its Arts Olympiad for the Exemplary Humanitarian Service Award.
Dr. Ishaq was presented the award by the founders of the WCO at an awards luncheon at the Grand Hilton Hotel in Seoul on September 15, 2004. "This is a great honor for ICAF . WCO is an important international event," said Ishaq. "We plan to work with them to bring about a fundamental change in world's consciousness about the creative contributions and value of children's imagination and art."
