URGENT APPEAL: TSUNAMI UPDATE FROM SRI LANKA PARTNER

ICAF's representative in Sri Lanka, Dr. Ambalampitiya, president of Colombo Children's Book Society (CCBS), reports:

"On the morning of December 26th I was donating children's books at an orphanage in the coastal area. Suddenly people were shouting on the street as sea waves came inland. Within a few minutes our beautiful land became a graveyard for thousaands. In some areas tsunami came upto three kilometers inland, destroying everything in its path. Today, over one million people are refugees without homes and the only possession many children have is what they were wearing that morning. We have 800 children's reading centers and libraries around the country, serving over 200,000 children. We are collecting school books, educational materials and art supplies for these children."

Please send in-kind donations to:
