Arts Olympiad to be featured at AAHPERD conference in Chicago

The 2005 national convention of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) will be held April 12-16 at McCormick Place, Chicago. It will include an international forum to discuss how sports and the arts can promote international development and understanding. This event is in conjunction with ICAF's Third Arts Olympiad (2005-2008).

Mr. Adolf Ogi, former president of Switzerland and Special Advisor to the UN Secretary-General on Sport for Development and Peace, will present the keynote address at the opening session. The international forum will be chaired by AAHPERD president Shirley Ann Holt/Hale and moderated by Ron Feingold, Dean of Adelphi University. Dr. Ashfaq Ishaq of ICAF is a featured speaker.

For additional information on the arts and sport forum, see the listing in the 2005 Program Schedule.
