The European Children's Festival will celebrate the artistic and related achievements of children who have won national competitions organized by ICAF's country partners through the global Arts Olympiad program. Reinforcing the theme of the children's artworks, "My Favorite Sport," the Festival will take place immediately before the 2006 FIFA World Cup at the Olympiapark, a World Cup venue, and at Marienplatz in central Munich.

The First International Exhibition of Cultural Figurines and Children's Puppets will be held at Galeria Kaufhof Marienplatz on May 26 June 9, 2006, as part of the Festival. The exhibition will showcase the culture and children's creativity of 20 countries.

Olympiapark GmbH is partnering with ICAF to host the European Children's Festival and promote the Arts Olympiad. The Mayor of Munich Mr. Christian Ude is a Festival patron. ICAF's media partner is Sddeutsche Zeitung. Early sponsors include Galeria Kaufhof am Marienplatz, I D W GmbH Duisburg-Toronto, and Munich Re.
