CONTACT: Media Relations "My Favorite Sport" Exhibition in Turin on 12 FebruaryAn exhibition of selected entries from the United States and Italy on ICAF's theme,"My Favorite Sport," will be exhibited in Turin during the Winter Olympics. The exhibition will be held during the Truce Foundation of the USA awards ceremony at the Palace of Stupinigi on February 12, 2006. Governor Mitt Romney of Massachusetts will present awards inspired by the Olympic Truce to President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf of Liberia, President Olusegun Obasanjo of Nigeria, Mr. Peter Ueberroth of the U.S. Olympic Committee, and Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Gianfranco Fini. The U.S. children's art exhibition promoting the artist-athlete ideal will be comprised of works created by the following American children ages 8 to 12: Andrew Chan, Kaitlin Kwong, Jared Shen and Clarissa Yaw (California); Davika Ritcher (Minnesota); Keairra Shelton and Rajanai Richmond (Missouri); Andie Wei (New Jersey); Diana Nabulsi (Texas) and Esther Kim (Virginia). Associazione Carpe Diem, ICAF's partner in Italy, will arrange the Italian counterpart of the exhibition by displaying works created by ten children under ICAF's program. Children at a Turin school that participated in ICAF's program will make an artwork to be presented to Mr. Hugh Dugan, founder of the Truce Foundation of the USA. The event is being underwritten by the Business Council for International Understanding, whose President and CEO, Mr. Peter Tichansky is Member of ICAF Advisory Board. The International Child Art Foundation (ICAF) employs the arts to heal, inspire and unify children across the globe. ICAF's focus on developing innate creativity and intrinsic empathy as foundations for prosperity and peace is congruent with the objectives of the Olympic Truce and the Truce Foundation of the USA. | ||
