Second Arts Olympiad (2001-2004)

Introspection and Expression
"Me in the New Millennium" was the theme of ICAF's second Arts Olympiad. This theme provided children around the world a unique opportunity for introspection and expression of their creativity and imagination through art. The program provided teachers and parents a common platform to inspire children to visualize and shape their future.

The Arts Olympiad was organized throughout the United States and in more than 70 countries around the world. Delegates from 70 countries, 30 U.S. states and the District of Columbia participated in ICAF's 2003 International ChildArt Festival in Washington, DC from September 6 to 13, 2003. A total of 50 specialized institutions and experts provided peace education and leadership training, exhibitions and entertainment at the festival on the National Mall. The Mayor of Washington, DC presented ICAF with an official proclamation designating September 11 as Children's Peace Day. The young artists received Certificates of Special Congressional Recognition from the U.S Congress at the awards ceremony, which was held at the Washington Convention Center.

National festivals or exhibitions were held in Bahrain, Brazil, Germany, Ghana, India, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
