U.S. Partners
Dean Baer, Artist, and Marjory Joan Roth, Educator, Greenhills School
Role: Baer and Roth create awareness about dyslexia and the creative gift dyslexic children possess. They will discuss the latest dyslexia detection and teaching methods being utilized with children, highlighting the arts. They will also provide resource information, and display artwork created by dyslexic children. To be held on September 10th, Wellness Day.

Kathy Byers
Kathy Byers logo Role: Kathy will sing on the World Stage in front of the Capitol Building, and will meet and perform for children at their drawing stations during the exhibition on The National Mall. She will also conduct a sweepstakes for which the prize will be a copy of her CD "Do You Wish You Could Fly?"

Center for Community Leadership
Role: The Center for Community Leadership helps governments and a wide variety of public and private organizations to serve the needs of children and adults, especially those with disabilities, in their everyday lives. With years of experience developing community-based systems of services and support, the Center's President, Gary De Carolis, M.Ed, presents an informative workshop for teachers and parents during the Festival.

East Carolina University; Lou W. Everett, Professor, School of Nursing and Dr. Cynthia Bickley-Green, Assistant Professor, School of Art
Role: Professors Everett and Bickley-Green lead a workshop titled "Brushstrokes and Dialog: Creating a Peaceful School", whose goal is to teach all children how to peacefully, effectively, and constructively communicate with others. The workshop is open to teachers, other adults in the school setting, and parents or surrogate parents (grandparents) who will be interacting with the children.

Feeding Minds, Fighting Hunger - Food and Agricultural Organization of the UN

International Center for Studies in Creativity
Role: Partnering with ICAF to organize the Children's Creativity Symposium on Sept 8.

National Zoo

Pan American Health Organization
Role: The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), established in 1902, is the oldest public health organization in the world, and works to improve the health and raise the living standards of all the people of the Americas. PAHO presents the workshop "Children's Health and the Environment", a discussion about creating a safe environment, in the Festival School. This workshop is geared towards children.

Seminar for Research in Art Education
Role: SRAE, an affiliate of the National Art Education Association (NAEA), has a long history of supporting and encouraging research efforts in art education, with membership extended to all who are interested in developing and using art education research. A team of SRAE researchers will pursue studies during the Festival on such topics as relationships, motivation, identity, expression, experience and environment.

Student Campaign for Child Survival
Role: The Student Campaign for Child Survival is leading a workshop on the importance of child survival programs, and how they impact children's potential or creativity. Held on Children's Wellness Day on September 10th on the National Mall.

University of Louisiana; Subrata Dasgupta, Eminent Scholar Chair & Director, Institute of Cognitive Science and Professor of History
Role: Professor Dasgupta discusses his work on creativity in art, with featured artist George Rodrigue as a case study.

The U. S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command Army Family Action Plan
Role: The U. S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC) Army Family Action Plan engages youth in creative art projects, recognizing the importance of the arts in building self-esteem and nurturing creativity. USASMDC is proud to exhibit at the Festival their "Peace Through Art" Totem Pole, designed and built by the teen delegation at the Army Family Action Plan Conference under the direction of Professor Marietta Fryer and Rik Fryer. Titled "Totem Pole", this artwork symbolizes the connection of all people, despite cultural, social, economic and geographic separations. Portia Davidson is the Space and Missile Defense Command Community and Family Support Division Chief who directs the global programs.
