Title: Black Utopia
Statement : This is my poster. This is not my imaginative, dreamed future. That is one "utopia" which Lenin realized. But to realize this "utopia" and keep it for 70 years there had been great many victims. Many bright ideas were destroyed, and from the "Red utopia", the "Black" reality was born.. I don't want to realize the same kind of "utopia" any more.

Statement : Bridge through the universe. I am worried that we people will destroy our world through environmental pollution, nuclear power plants and war and will have to find a new living space. My vision is for us to find a source of energy which enables us to rush through the universe at the speed of light. The universe will be habitable. I hope that we humans are clever enough to protect and save our world from ourselves so that the bridge through the universe would not be a necessity but rather a nice stroll.

Philbert Tiki Yong (age 12) Click here for low-res image Philbert Tiki Yong (age 12)
Statement : World peace. In the 21st century science and technology has made the world so small. With advance telecommunication, we can communicate with one another easily, no matter where we are. Air travel has united many countries across the globe. Internet access has made human to interact with one another much often. Despite globalization and modernization, people in many countries fear terrorism and bombings. In Iraq, Iraqis live in sadness and misery. For large cities, for example New York, London; Madrid and others, city folks live in fear and terrorized psychologically. The world has so much unrest. Therefore, I hope my art piece will help the world realise the importance of world peace. I would like to plea the world for unity and to care and share among one another. Let us children have our rights of protection therefore child abuse will not exist in the future. Let our voices echo to all children of the world to express themselves through art. Art allows us to be creative, gives us inner peace and above all, helps us develop patience. These are virtues of peace on earth.

All special children on this planet are the most beautiful creation of God: they feel pain, heat and hunger but most of all they feel love. Mariam is an ambassador of love, peace and courage for all the special children of the world through her art. The peace and harmony the world needs today and in the future comes from extending love even if it's not returned.

Statement : Spring forward 3000 years. Time to twist jacks and to think of posterity. It seems to me that our future is triumph and full victory of mechanisms and technologies over wild nature and man. As a result of technological transformations of our planet there won't be even a bit of land for animals and birds to make a nest and breed posterity. And to my mind it will be a great loss for mankind.

Shadows of Cultural Economics
This picture focuses on the differences in traditional vs. modern ways of life. The Native American Indian represents a traditional form of old world culture. The graph depicts modern technology verses traditional economies and ways of life. As lack of freedom goes up, utopia goes down. As Utopia goes up, lack of freedom goes down. We are currently living in a technological world and forgetting the traditional ways. Do we have more freedom today? It is up to each individual to decide!
