Nearly one million children in 86 countries participated in the program and produced original artworks depicting children’s visions of the future. Following this best programmatic result for perhaps any non-governmental international organization, the ICAF hosted the very first national children’s art festival in U.S. history. The World Children’s Festival 1999 was held on the National Mall in Washington DC.
The Arts Olympiad artworks were exhibited at the White House Millennium Celebration in Washington DC, the United Nations Headquarters in New York City, and the 2003 World Bank/IMF Annual Meetings in Dubai, UAE.
